History of #Laconica, #StatusNet, #GnuSocial ... and the beginning of #PostActiv https://social.umeahackerspace.se/conversation/455000

Definitely all #GS (and #StatusNet if there are any left; and #postActiv) instances, most #Friendica and a few #Hubzilla instances. A few remaining (not updated) #Mastodon and #Pleroma instances.
At one time, there was a plugin for WordPress that let people comment over #OStatus. I do not know if said plugin is still maintained.

@lightone No worries, happy to answer questions! :)
I guess the best is to follow RSS feeds if you want to focus on development. https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social
https://git.postactiv.com/postActiv/postActiv
Also joining !postactiv and !gnusocial might be useful.

Reminder for !gnusocial / !postactiv admins: It would be a good idea to blackhole requests to/from 91.121.67.58 since it can otherwise mess up your queue and halt federation.
Linux instructions for doing so: https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/how-do-i-drop-or-block-attackers-ip-with-null-routes.html

Imagine #gnusocial / #postActive would look (beside a #microblog) like fully developed #rss, #json reader. I've just found #newsblur a couple of days ago. You can organize your different streams, comment and share content with other users within the webpage. It's both a simple newsreader and a social annociated newsreader. You can follow people, and It's opensource....but it can…

@thelovebug@s.wefamlee.be I scrolled through the list of issues for #postActiv and found this about full acct URI mentioning for local IDs:https://git.postactiv.com/postActiv/postActiv/issues/90 As a matter of fact, it works great in !GNUsocial (at least in the nightly branch, which is the one I probably recommend for everyone and will "soon" merge into master). It ge…

I think @Maiyannah@community.highlandarrow.com may be working on retrieving full conversation threads in !Postactiv Full thread retrieval may exist in !Mastodon too

The !gnusocial and !postactiv groups do not exist as an easy means of promotion. If you kind of want to be like "hey guys, I have a question" or just get the attention of everyone, I'd argue that's more what the !fediverse group is about.

Another large documentation dump just got pushed to the !postActiv repo and will be on the site shortly (when SFTP cooperates)

Pushed a commit to !postActiv nightly that moves the Activity stuff from /lib/ to /classes/activity/ and adds that path to the class autoloader. Documented authorship at the same time.
Going to give them a documentation do over and look at moving the Activity modules into there too. As best I can when I feel like I do right now anyways.

I worked my butt off and made an Ansible playbook that literally does almost everything needed to set up a !postactiv server from scratch. Sleeping then adding the other 90% and contributing it back.

The latest push to !postActiv nightly moves most of the queue-related classes from /lib/ to /classes/queue/ including the STOMP, dbqueue. and Redis queue stuff.

Whenever there's a significant discussion about !postActiv, I try to sum up the days discussion at the Patreon before I turn in, so that the people supporting the project are kept in the know and don't miss things. I'll probably mirror it to the website when I finish the redesign.
