Fine, and I would ignore it just the same. Or perhaps those wanting to license NC-ND would write and brand their own license. -

I am one and have been for years. -

because of the confusion for one. and the wasted time. and the extra difficulty of search. and more. -

It does not have to be covered by the CC brand though. Too much confusion. -

Slightly better may be how many creators currently making their living from their independent creations could switch to Free and still do so -

That is the wrong question. Worth watching: http://ur1.ca/a0tcm then think about the question again. -

Question for advocates of Creative Commons NC-ND removal: How many creators currently make their living exclusively w/ !CC free? #lazyweb -

@arnebab We tried (and failed) to stop !copyright law that protects #DRM even when used to to block !cc or !publicDomain !Canada -

@arnebab People who have thought about copyright reform for years are annoyed the rest of the world has not caught up; they want change NOW. -

@lxoliva I think the NC licenses are pretty important. IIRC Steve Losh started with BY-NC-ND and now simply uses BY. -

@douglasawh I don't advocate it either, but I believe very much it is must be available as a necessary first step. -

@arnebab maybe offer such ND licenses from Creative Museum or so; can transition to commons when old enough ;-) -
lxoliva (lxoliva)'s status on Monday, 27-Aug-2012 17:58:40 EDT lxoliva
@arnebab of course they can! I just think they shouldn't, for such works are not in the commons, thus betraying the goal -

@lxoliva *I* don’t like stuff I cannot change, but I prefer stuff I can pass on to stuff I cannot. -

@lxoliva why can’t they just keep offering licenses for content I am allowed to send to my friends, even though not change? -
lxoliva (lxoliva)'s status on Monday, 27-Aug-2012 17:50:18 EDT lxoliva
@laurelrusswurm like they couldn't come up with the license wording on their own? you mean CC is *forced* to work for them? -

@laurelrusswurm I think “currently” is the key here. We need the possibility of smooth transition — slow enough for traditional art! -

@laurelrusswurm how many advocates for that are there? I'm not an advocate for using NC/ND, but I don't see a problem with their existence -

@dpic what’s your foundation to the naming of copyright as “unjust”? — I’m interested in yours. Mine: http://ur1.ca/9xsyz - german -

@dpic I understood the point @snapl was making was that but for !CC ND NC licence, the music would be © "all rights reserved"
