#Daddy_A feels rejected because he’s not getting any job offers. But he’s been off work five years due to a back injury (and been the primary caregiver for three kids), so it is not unexpected. Trying to persuade him to start some sort of job-training program, so that he’ll have a better shot.

It gives just the specific tasks and skills needed to start working in a specific field, so students actually do their jobs better than a college / university graduate in the same field. The bad thing is that the schools don't give students anything extra, so they have to take their own responsibility for learning what they need to advance.

@clacke@libranet.de@libranet.de We have some job training schools that fit that description (unproductive waste of money), and we also many degree-granting institutions (colleges and universities) that also fit that description. It got worse after we told every young high school student that they had to earn a degree or they'd be stuck working at McDonald's for minimum wage. We…
