   I hate #WiFi. I rotated my office desk by 90°, and now I'm watching a progress bar as I save a text file of a few kilobytes from my laptop to my desktop ten meters away. Why? Should I be sprinkling holy water on my desk to appease the WiFi gods? There should be ethernet everywhere you have electricity. You have to have a cord anyway; why not add eight teeny little wires to it?

    @andyc Also Karl and Simon Wolstencroft. "Break uh! Now!" Every band should have two drummers. But can you imagine being one of two musicians playing the same instrument in a band run by #MES?     Going to throw out my old PC speakers when moving house this week. Only one of the pair actually works because my cat Harry, who died about fifteen years ago, had a compulsion for chewing on electrical cables (that isn't how he died, BTW). I've hung on to them as a last physical link to him.

    I was always amazed by how #MES could pull a random bunch of kids off the street and produce an album that was unmistakably the #Fall, but the classic lineup for me will always be Mark, Craig, Steve, Marc, and Karl. I concede Brix took it to another level, but that was the bones of the group.

    Good day at #work today after a weird one yesterday. Not keen on walking home through a rough neighbourhood (in real estate speak: clean and modern, just minutes away from beach, shops, and cafés) in the dark, but I like afternoon shifts because I can be satisfied everything is done for the day before clocking off.

    Dentistry seems to be the one industry where Say's Law (supply creates demand) actually holds. Nothing like being in a position to profit from both the prescription and delivery of a therapy. Your capacity to provide the latter determines the quantity of the former.
