Bought an expensive USB #WiFi dongle from #Jaycar, foolishly thinking it was still the golden age of devices supporting free operating systems, and that it would Just Work™. Then tried various drivers found on Github, then tried NDISwrapper, then was about to give up when it occurred to me to compile the (non-free, presumably) kernel module on the driver CD. Works perfectly. #facepalm -

In #Coffs, having a drink at the Greenhouse Tavern. $4.90 schooners, in the squat glasses I haven't seen in years. And the taste! Recycled drip tray, no question about it. I haven't known a pub that tried to pull that one since the Menzies bars in Sydney in the 90s. Ah, nostalgia. Time to wince at another one, I think. -
