Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Monday, 09-Nov-2020 14:40:07 EST Douglas A. Whitfield I was just thinking I should change some of my tags, but those will be back once covid has settled down, so I guess I'll keep them -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Monday, 09-Nov-2020 10:28:38 EST Douglas A. Whitfield And then we get to
helm search stable/prometheus-operator --versions | head -2
and it all falls apart... -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Monday, 09-Nov-2020 10:25:52 EST Douglas A. Whitfield I would like to mark this momentous occasion of something actually working: "Starting control plane node minikube in cluster minikube" -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Saturday, 07-Nov-2020 17:15:36 EST Douglas A. Whitfield Ugh, typo...basically, aside from a handful of elite cyclists, I'm going to be fitter than most people was my parathentical. You probably get the point. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Saturday, 07-Nov-2020 17:13:46 EST Douglas A. Whitfield Maybe in California, but I've never experienced anyone having meltdown because they disagreed with me. Then again, i don't go around telling people they should get rid of their cars and go vegan. If they can't see that it's obviously a better choice since I'm fitter than them () -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 16:18:49 EST Douglas A. Whitfield yeah, 3D is definitely different than VR. I am thinking more for meetings, but until there's an #opensource VR headset our customers are asking us to support, I can't see us being able to convince management to get those. I was thinking, very specifically, about family gatherings. The http://status.hackerposse.com/url/22733 terms are lame, but it's a good idea. Last year, one o… -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 15:17:38 EST Douglas A. Whitfield so, I thought, well, it says up-to $4000, but well, starts at $3500: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/holoLens-2/91pnzzznzwcp/?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab
All of the good ones are a few hundred dollars. I just feel like I wouldn't use it enough to justify that.
I was thinking like $300.
Oculus seems to get pretty close, but I don't want to Zuck money. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 14:35:21 EST Douglas A. Whitfield I'm officially giving up on the provisioner. Short of doing a tcpdump, I don't see how I can do any debugging without the ability to log in.
I'm sure this will be error prone, but in theory at least I can provision machines with networking...

Pretty sure these are called workers elsewhere. WHY???????/ -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 13:17:23 EST Douglas A. Whitfield this may be the answer (the trick is to actually get it to work): https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/tutorial-autologin/
At that point, in theory, I can assign a static IP address. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 13:11:53 EST Douglas A. Whitfield well, sorta...ssh, which is useless considering I don't get an IP. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't get DHCP. it seems to have at least one adapter active.
I probably just need to use one of our images instead of CoreOS, but I'm not sure the reast of the yaml will work in that case. Seems like a house of cards. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 11:23:07 EST Douglas A. Whitfield nm, it's not getting an IP at all, that's a local address -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 11:12:20 EST Douglas A. Whitfield oh, we are getting an IP address, it is just IPv6. ugh. this is why the IPv4 addresses I am giving it aren't working, I assume... -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 11:09:12 EST Douglas A. Whitfield I don't understand why they can't just give us a password so we can log in to the machine via console. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 11:08:36 EST Douglas A. Whitfield definitely no IP address, but it does say that the ssh key was written. I think I couldn't ssh because wrong user, but I didn't see a place to put the user...and the script should know the user... -

interesting. I hadn't noticed that with all the error messages. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 10:43:02 EST Douglas A. Whitfield ok, so it only asks on "initial" install. Some stuff it gathers from hidden files, so new directory, I guess. -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 06-Nov-2020 10:38:29 EST Douglas A. Whitfield 20h is when I start getting the cats ready for bed, which means: * moist food both * teeth brush both (sometimes nail clipping for both since we've already got them wrangled). Brushing Odie's teeth is a two-person job. The vet is impressed with his strength, determination, and agility. I have to wear essentially falconer gloves to deal with him, but he's gotten to the point whe… -
