Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Tuesday, 16-Feb-2016 20:05:57 EST Mark Watson I think the poster on HN does not understand, or will ignores because they are building a straw man argument, the benefits of the viral nature of the GPL. -
Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Monday, 15-Feb-2016 15:15:40 EST Mark Watson I think that Lee will win, this time. I used to play in the 1970s, and got an exhibition game against the womens' world champion and with Mr. Lee, the champion of South Korea at the time. I don't play much anymore. -

Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Friday, 12-Feb-2016 23:29:34 EST Mark Watson Cool, I am glad I found this group. I wrote a crappy Go playing program in the late 1970s - Honninbo Warrior for the Apple II. It played a shitty game, but people who bought it surprisingly didn't seem to mind.
Deep Mind's system is unbelievable. Never thought I would see a strong Go program in my lifetime. -

Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Friday, 12-Feb-2016 09:49:02 EST Mark Watson Good article on the importance of encryption: http://www.dailydot.com/politics/worldwide-survey-of-encryption-products/
The world economy depends on strong encryption and efforts to place backdoors into encryption products end up helping organized crime and hostile state actors. It is idiotic to acknowledge the need strong encryption for business and at the same time not support it for individuals. -

Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Wednesday, 10-Feb-2016 16:19:49 EST Mark Watson I hope it is. I must admit that I use social media to shamelessly promote my books, but I have become much more concerned with privacy issues in the last several years. When I stopped working at Google in 2013 the first thing I did was write a long blog article on how to protect some semblance of privacy wile using Google+, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But, simply using freedom/pri… -

Mark Watson (markwatson)'s status on Tuesday, 09-Feb-2016 14:14:19 EST Mark Watson Hillary Clinton has been financing Chris Matthew's wife's run for US Congress. Lots of money. Mathew's wife now has way more money than opposing candidates. Chris Mathews has been using his "news" show on MSNBC to totally shill for Hillary Clinton. My wife and I have been talking about this: in a 1 hour Chris Mathews show we watched, he spent almost all of the time praising Cli…
