Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Saturday, 26-Mar-2016 09:29:41 EDT Bob Mottram !gnusocial bug: commit 5f7032dfee1fd202c14e76a9f8b37af35d584901 causes the OrFox browser to perpetually reload with the message: "Cannot establish connection to the server. The server could be overloaded, or there might be a problem with your internet connection. Please try again later (error)" -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Saturday, 26-Mar-2016 09:07:45 EDT Bob Mottram Looks like there's a !gnusocial bug some time after f10625f8bc59e3ae52da07fdba910329fad540a3 (Feb 12) which causes OrFox to perpetually reload the page. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Monday, 21-Mar-2016 05:08:53 EDT Bob Mottram My Google removing patch for !gnusocial got merged! Things such as Google Maps could maybe be implemented as a separate optional plugin if folks want that. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Sunday, 20-Mar-2016 17:33:42 EDT Bob Mottram So I've made a quick hack to post from tt-rss to !gnusocial on #Freedombone. It only works from the desktop interface, not from the mobile one currently. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Sunday, 20-Mar-2016 09:19:07 EDT Bob Mottram !gnusocial merge request to remove Google references https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/merge_requests/117 -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Sunday, 20-Mar-2016 07:41:06 EDT Bob Mottram Removing Google references from !gnusocial. This shows just how pervasive Google actually is. There are obsolete references to code.google.com, and the even more obsolete Google Buzz (one or the original internet privacy scandals). There is also some proprietary Google Maps stuff. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Wednesday, 16-Mar-2016 09:23:33 EDT Bob Mottram @vinzv are there any !gnusocial T-shirts? -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Saturday, 12-Mar-2016 15:00:57 EST Bob Mottram Looks like I get one stray notification in !gnusocial which won't go away. Any ideas how to clear it? -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Thursday, 10-Mar-2016 05:37:24 EST Bob Mottram @mmn @gargron there might be some situations where proprietary is the only option, but otherwise I'd stick to free software. Software which is impossible to independently audit is inherently untrustworthy. Also since I have some experience of the industry, you may think the code quality of FOSS is questionable (heartbleed and co), but the code quality of proprietary stuff is /orders of magnitude/ worse. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Tuesday, 08-Mar-2016 09:07:01 EST Bob Mottram Looks like the patch for the !gnusocial markdown plugin was merged https://git.gnu.io/chimo/markdown/commits/master -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Friday, 26-Feb-2016 09:36:11 EST Bob Mottram Added a separate install file for the !gnusocial debian package https://git.gnu.io/bashrc/gnusocial-debian/blob/master/INSTALL.md -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Thursday, 25-Feb-2016 05:10:44 EST Bob Mottram Apparently Windows 10 now comes with full screen ads on the lock screen. #antifeatures -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Wednesday, 17-Feb-2016 04:28:11 EST Bob Mottram @navigium @jackmcbastard Hubzilla can do things like that, since it has a more elaborate privacy model than just follow or block. I see !gnusocial as being a simpler system. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Friday, 12-Feb-2016 14:51:45 EST Bob Mottram Added !gnusocial user creation and removal to #Freedombone. This makes it easy to add or remove users via the control panel, without having to manually register them on each service running on the box. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Friday, 12-Feb-2016 12:41:06 EST Bob Mottram @roland @bob for #Freedombone it would be nice if there was a command line way to add and remove !gnusocial users -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Friday, 12-Feb-2016 05:26:19 EST Bob Mottram Updated the !gnusocial debian package to the current commit, since it looks like are some important recent changes. https://git.gnu.io/bashrc/gnusocial-debian -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Thursday, 11-Feb-2016 16:03:08 EST Bob Mottram @rozzin @mcscx I don't think so. I think it's just because this is a GNU project, and people who care about software freedom are in general more thoughtful. -
Bob Mottram (bob)'s status on Thursday, 11-Feb-2016 09:28:59 EST Bob Mottram Added !gnusocial markdown support to #Freedomone. It gets installed by default.
