@maiyannah @armistace I think StatusNet was developed by one guy, who then started on the new shiny (pump.io) but for whatever reason then retired from development leaving pump in a half baked condition. Statusnet became !gnusocial, but who is now maintaining it and whether they are asleep at the wheel I don't know. If the maintainer is unresponsive to newly found security bugs then forking makes sense. -

I notice there are three giant Facebook billboards up in Manchester. I didn't read them in detail, but it looks like the message is something like using their system to resist or "fight back". Probably they're still riding on the common association between Facebook and the Egyptian revolution.
If I had a big ladder I'd be tempted to replace the Facebook logo with a !gnusocial or #Hubzilla one. -

@maiyannah @manuel in that case no. I use a particular commit of !gnusocial, otherwise it fails to display within OrFox. I reported that problem a while ago, and it might be a bug in OrFox. Until there's a new OrFox version resolving the issue I'll stick with the current commit.
