To reply to a post in !GNUsocial you have to find a copy of it in your own instance. Older versions of !StatusNet pointed both the datetime URL and the conversations URL to the originating instance; I think newer !GNUsocial code has fixed that. Is there a way to force !friendica to re-import contacts from a given service - in this case, a !gnusocial instance?
I know I've found an import function before in the menus, but it didn't seem to do anything other than refresh what's already there.

If people would stop calling !gnusocial a #Twitter clone or portray it as such, then it would probably get better.
Don't market it as a "federated Twitter", but as an interesting and refreshing social platform... something along these lines
