@freenux →if I want to search for a !GNUsocial account over all instances I usually use a web search engine & look for "$username gnusocial"
-
@freenux !GNUsocial doesnt have a centralized user directory (like there is also no directory of mail addresses existing world-wide)
-

@guerin comparing to !GNUsocial:
On GNUsocial instances the public timeline is visible for visitors so you can get some impression if there is decent traffic on the public timeline what what people are up to.
And you can scroll down and find out if the instance has been already there for quite a while or if the instance has been created "just yesterday"

@Elizafox @Gargron Delete functionality for profiles ought to be _profile_ deletion as suggested in that thread. It would be up to each federated remote instance whether to delete the profile and/or data. The possibility to delete an account's data should be obvious. But essentially that could be accomplished by just having the user edit their profile data, deleting a…

-
@hauntedlatte @bortzmeyer there's one, on !gnusocial though: herds.eu which is !troupeau
-
-
I just spent a couple hours checking out !gnusocial groups from this list. http://www.skilledtests.com/wiki/List_of_federated_GNU_social_groups #mastodon users don't know what they're missing!

@stitchxd Just to clarify, I'm not thinking about leaving gnusocialme, just trying to look down the road. The bit I understand of !indieweb says that a person ought to own his own data. (I don't know how those two interact.) Seems, though, that's a goal consistent with !gnusocial and a worthy project. Of course, nobody's paid to do stuff around here, I understand that. Here I am in…

-
@stigatle Do you know quit.im it is a instagram like !gnusocial
-
BTW, seems I recall !gnusocial had an data export function. Is that correct?
-
OK, mirror on !gnusocial of a mastodon account with #Feedmirror is OK with private account on mastodon.Really #gnusocial is great ;)
-
@kevinmarks I'm not entirely sure why you'd want a template URL in the Link rel. The way a !GNUsocial profile is presented currently with a Link header is (a URL to the webfinger endpoint but can be any endpoint of course):
Link: <https://social.umeahackerspace.se/url/154243>; rel="lrdd"; type="application/jrd+json"
