Joshua Judson Rosen (rozzin)'s status on Thursday, 11-Feb-2016 15:51:34 EST Joshua Judson Rosen
@mcscx, !gnusocial seems to have an unusually high ratio of considered, thoughtful discourse from people who actually think about what they're about to say. -

@mcscx, I actually wonder if the blatant `no takebacks' nature of !gnusocial might actually be part of what makes it such a nice place.... -

Gah, so much is happening at once in !GNUsocial right now (or rather, so many people suggesting so many things). I want to chill out and look away for a while. Have fun, all. -

!gnusocial how do you make the email options all be turned off by default on new registrations? I did my due diligence and looked at the code and thought that you just change the default on the column in #MySQL, but I'm not sure now this is enough. -

@rottenwheel Esto depende de la configuración del nodo !gnusocial donde te encuentres. En este caso quitter.no tiene configurados 1000 caracteres y quitter.se 140. Puedes ver la configuración de cada nodo en el valor "textlimit". Ejemplo: https://quitter.se/api/statusnet/config.xml -

Indeed. I was just wondering if it was intentional that the headers are not being sent, because it would be great to be able to grab conversation feeds via a script, but that's not possible right now.

Thinking about #USENET/ !GNUsocial analogies (thanks, @smj) made me think of this: when replying to a notice that was posted to a group, if you think your reply will be of interest to the other members of the group, be sure to mention the group in your reply. The USENET analogy is this: mentioning the group is like posting a "Follow-up", and replying without mentioning is more like posting a "Reply" via email. -

!gnusocial — Playing with the API and Javascript, here. Why can I do cross-origin requests to /api/statuses/show, but requests to api/statusnet/conversation fail due to the Access-Control-Allow-Origin headers not being sent? -

@discussthang I stared with !gnusocial last year and at first i was happy with Textile, too. Then we ran into this problem and now I switched to Markdown ;-) -

@hikerus That means the external instream and the local instream are not devided? Sounds like a !gnusocial architectual problem, but it should be addressable in the plugin by discarding anything not from a local source.
