Of all things, what I'd really like is a checkbox in the settings that sets whether or not RTs go to Twitter. !gnusocial

Sort of off-topic, but the owner of that site was saying he might not renew hosting when that time comes. We do need to make sure such documentation for !gnusocial and related things (such as #OStatus) is available elsewhere, too.

!gnusocial — Threaded network-wide conversation reconstructor thingie I hacked together today: http://laemeur.sdf.org/gs/gs-convo-assembler.html Works okay!

Updated the !gnusocial debian package to the current commit, since it looks like are some important recent changes. https://git.gnu.io/bashrc/gnusocial-debian

@hundur Ok - I thought from !gnusocial admin to admin ;-)

!gnusocial question: how can i abo users in the #qvitter view? Its not that cool to switch to the classical view for it every time...
-
@mmn !gnusocial question: When I reply to a notice in classic view - the address isn't copied in the reply-message. But when I reply in !qvitter the address is at the beginning of the replay-message.
When a user is replying in classic view mode these replies are not correctly displayed in !qvitter - you don't see to whom the reply is sent.
-
Interestingly..., looking at the !gnusocial commit logs and online conversation, it looks like @mmn actually did make notice-deletes propagate through the network quasi-recently: http://status.hackerposse.com/conversation/87921#notice-87928 (commit from Sat Oct 10 11:08:17 2015 +0200: "I think I have made the delete verb generate proper AS").

!fediverse map app in production. Later the front-end and code on github. Does anybody know if it is possible to get total user count via the !gnusocial API? Couldn't find it here http://skilledtests.com/wiki/GNU_social_API

@cathal For heaven's sake! When an admin doesn't want users who are still in Kindergarden without a common behavior - !gnusocial can grow also without that folk. @taknamay @taknamay
-
@cathal But this server is not closed to the net !gnusocial - from there you can follow every account in the net - doesn't matter on which instance. . @daithib8 @hundur
-
@cathal There are no "closed servers" in the federated !gnusocial - I don't understand. @daithib8 @hundur
-
@cathal I think a public timeline is helpful when you start - so you can see what is going on this instance of !gnusocial. Or you go further an look up the timline of "known network" - there you see postings from other instances. But later, when you will have an "established" start timeline you will prefer this one. @daithib8 @hundur

@mcscx, !gnusocial seems to have an unusually high ratio of considered, thoughtful discourse from people who actually think about what they're about to say.
