FINALLY ... we have a place for guests to sit in our living room! # CouchAccomplished

Up early for a day in the underground lab! Oh, look ... snow! (and an Alberta Clipper that might create some blizzard conditions) https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/ed22fdab8f9b3dfa9b0ef927aada9ed86f1270196d28280466486d21e63ac556/view

The living room is indeed getting there! Today's big chore was getting the couch up the stairs. Once the bookshelves are built downstairs we will finally have homes for all our books. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/8a89af7972e701de035917b9f67cbc6e2ac2f6498f3df72c162b073328f7b411/view

I like the point made early in the interview: (paraphrasing) “The graduate students who become involved in such a mission today will be its leaders by the time it begins its survey of the planet.†“Earth’s Hidden Hydrogen and a Trip to Uranus†(Scie…

Had a pretty nice day chorin' and working on the book Jodi and I are co-authoring. The book is in the second draft stage, headed toward final draft, technical review, and then publication. Today I dug into the concept of 'meters-water-equivalent, " where you put different underground labs on the same footing by translating their overburden to meter of water. This allows a…

Spent a coffee break at a SNOLAB whiteboard yesterday trying to re-derive the relationship between observed redshift of light and the scale factor of the universe at two different times. I nailed the velocity relationship (redshift as a function of recession velocity), but stumbled on the final goal. Sigh. Try try again. # RememberThouArtMortal
