The only reason I have a Github account is to provide bug reports and feature requests to projects I want to support.
I don't code much, but anything I want to be publicly available is on my own website. Although not in a code repository, which is probably a good idea.

Today was a day for preparing Canadian and US taxes. A moving year is hard. Moving abroad makes things extra spicy. In short: Canadian taxes = easy. US taxes = ????. Canadian taxes are filed. US taxes will have to wait until June 15 (we get an automatic extension to file just by being abroad) because we need to collect some other things before we’re really ready to file.

Still positive for COVID-19. Bah. Oh well, I will be working from home for the first half of this week. Looks like it is going to be a couple more days at least before I get a real negative test. It’s certainly less strongly positive than the test I took 5 days ago. But positive is positive. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/b9483675d44e9803afdf969b13733ee2c25e7c141865462e0e8c58d0ddbb1f1f/view

Time for a COVID-19 test! Let’s hope for a negative. Still would have to have another negative in 48 hours to be fairly sure I am beyond the “contagious†stage (still gonna wear a mask, regardless, if I go out in public, untill all symptoms are gone).

This is the first 24 hour period that my COVID infection symptoms have begun to wane. As with all respiratory infections, it feels good to be on this side of the symptom set. It is like breathing normally through your nose for the first time, every time … like some kind of oxygen revelation.

Finally won the COVID lottery, and it only took 3 years. Tested positive for the first time last night, and it was a strong and fast positive. I was negative just three days prior, but not a surprise with these antigen tests. Need a certain viral load to trigger a response. So, I continue staying home and working from home. Statistically, I credit the steady stream of vac…

Working from home again today. Still pretty symptomatic after the weekend. Tea will help. Not with the sneezing, but with the general sense of warm well being. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/7126b073b5b23ad52f23897411db7d15df2cb71ad9b456cf82a9712d13046f02/view

Oh, Apple. Got bit by this bug. Upon reinstalling Catalina, it won’t let you accept the license agreement after logging in with an Apple ID. https:// mrmacintosh.com/cant-accept-ic loud-terms-after-macos-install-agree-button-greyed-out/ The fact that you are unable to install and OS because it won’t let you accept a license agreement is, in the immortal words of the coach in Letterkenney, “F**kin’ embarrassing!â€

Still dealing with this troublesome Mac in our house where the upgrade to Ventura went sideways. There was no recovering that. Machine is wiped and getting a fresh install of Catalina. We'll try stepping it up to Ventura, then recover the data ... if that is allowed by Apple.

Flu still has me feeling blah but I wanted to do something besides watch TV, so I cleaned out R2's gearbox. Really got in between the gear teeth this time. On this older Roomba model, dust and pet hair has a way of getting into this gearbox. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/260c782954aedb50e2cb645e182a3d1318a74bd6bcf22a81a95aa4b7b601ffce/view

Thanks to the flu, FINALLY getting around to watching Season III of “Star Trek: Lower Decksâ€. I am really hoping for live action Boimler in “Picard†season 3. Throw a starfleet uniform on Jack Quaid, dip his head in some purple dye, kick him into the background of a scene on the USS Titan, and give me live action transporter clone William Boimler!
