Found one (1) tomato hornworm today. Removed it and fed it to the ants. Another kind of caterpillar is munching on the leaves of peas, turnips, radishes, beets. -

A quick survey found six more hornworms. All removed and dropped on the anthill. Going to be a party in Ant City tonight.

Today’s temperature is in the low 80s (F), so about five degrees more than yesterday. Still not bad. And no sense that the bright yellow thing in the sky is going to incinerate me. -

Bought banana bread mix (just add bananas, egg, water). It said to use oven at 400F for 45 minutes, but I stuck it in the breadmaker, so whatever the temperature for almost two hours.
That will be today’s second loaf. The first was whole wheat. I think it needed more xanthan gum (substitute for extra gluten) and more yeast, but it is still okay. I just don’t think it rose enough. -

Gigabit router recommendations? So we have a contract on a new house that has fiber already connected and access to gigabit speeds, my current router is 100 MiB limited so I need a new router (wired with no wifi) and am wondering good/bad feedback if anyone has experiences. I have a few weeks and I have already found a few options but I don't really trust internet reviews fully… - LinuxWalt (@lnxw48a1) {3EB165E0-5BB1-45D2-9E7D-93B31821F864} repeated this.

@geniusmusing The routers at work are centrally managed by another agency, so no experience to recommend by. I know #sonOne is using a #Ubiquiti router with #Wi-Fi, but I don't know specifics.

Science is better when we open our doors to immigrants All should be welcomed, encouraged, supported to engage in science. Our institutions in general do not do this. Fostering rewarding a culture aimed at this goal would be a good start. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/06/25/science-is-better-when-we-open-our-doors-immigrants/ -

@tregeagle Snap. My shift should have been cancelled. Within an hour the #work had run out and I was reduced to collecting and crushing cardboard. @lnxw48a1 I can't think of a time in my life where there has been this much good change, the question is how far can we go? The Summer that I worked in #MS was beastly hot and humid. People kept telling me it was the coldest Summer in many years, but I couldn't see how that could be possible.
"How can people live here?" was my daily question.
