Gigabit router recommendations?

So we have a contract on a new house that has fiber already connected and access to gigabit speeds, my current router is 100 MiB limited so I need a new router (wired with no wifi) and am wondering good/bad feedback if anyone has experiences. I have a few weeks and I have already found a few options but I don't really trust internet reviews fully. I have thought about rolling my own but I would rather that be a hobby option where I can make mistakes and not have security issues.

Most of my stuff is slightly old commercial grade hardware and while it is not a requirement, it is an option so good hardware that you may have worked on is also valid.
