Someone told me that it is hotter in [my town name] than in [their town name]. There aren’t many people with whom I share that information, so I was a little surprised at first. Then I remembered a prior conversation in which that information was shared.

For me, digital teaching starts with the flipped classroom model. Rather than subject students to an in-class lecture, they read and watch the lecture before class. Here is an example. Every hour of lecture take 3-6 hours to write/shoot/edit. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFuFjOF4zpFHfjd8TJIPk6cqlB6pjUaP6

From chronicle https://twitter.com/chronicle on Twitter: The emergency shift to remote instruction, as a result of Covid-19, has been toughest on faculty members who tended to resist digital tools. Here's how one such "resister" adjusted. https://www.chronicle.com/article/What-an-Ed-Tech-Skeptic/248876

Some of my brothers are going to team watch "Voyage into Space". I remember when a Los Angeles TV station would show it twice a day for five days (Monday through Friday) twice per year. Tuesday, someone at school would say "Giant Robot is on this week" and all other activities would cease. Looking back, our parents were really tolerant. It couldn't have been easy to lose your…

Idea for a TV special: The surviving cast members of "The 'A' Team" reunion, where they do "one last gig" and then grab their walkers and hobble off into the sunset.

Good morning and #tzag. I have finished today's #YoCO ( #yogurt and #coffee ).

When I was a teen, I would get angry and go for walks. After two or three hours, I would be over it and tired, but still have to walk back home. I would get home, exhausted and sweaty, then shower and go to bed.

I was worried Wendy would have a tough time with the anniversary, but I think covid may be keeping us preoccupied. I wasn't sure what to say, considering all the pain people are going through now. I guess all we can do is keep on keepin' on.

I planted various colors of #carrots, but they're in the same containers with beets and radishes, so I don't know how well they'll perform. @moon@shitposter.club's post reminded me of them.

Mark said that even if the pubhealth community had conspired to shut the economy down, they could not have created a more perfect script than the one we're following right now. He does not believe in a #conspiracy_theory, but he did notice how well events fit with any conspiracy one could reasonably believe. He said we as a nation need to mandate appropriate protections, enforc…

I’m a business / management focused centrist, but I agree ... in the large.

I’d want there to be some enforceable workplace protections and safety requirements, with increased regulator scrutiny and both individual and class rights of action. We already saw hundreds of people in meat processing plants get infected.
