About #Tahoe-LAFS: https://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/tahoe-lafs/browser/trunk/docs/about.rst [tahoe-lafs org] and https://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/tahoe-lafs/wiki/Doc [tahoe-lafs org]
In their #DataShards introduction, they mentioned reading the original Tahoe-LAFS paper. While I believe I have read it at some time in the past, I'd like to find it again.

Bought alphabet letters and a board with holes for the letters. Package says 2+, so I told #sonTwo and his wife to look it over before deciding whether to give it to #GS3 or wait a few months.

I should try to find one with umlauts, tildes, and other accented letter forms. I'm definitely wanting to learn a couple of foreign languages along with this grandson.

US #FDA authorizes "convalescent plasma" as treatment for #COVID-19

This was another treatment that I first heard about being used in China and South Korea.

Actually, if #DataShards was a practical, end-user project, I would try it now. #sonTwo is changing hosting of one of his sites, so I went in and grabbed (what I believe is) all t he interesting data to send to him.

I listened to @cwebber@octodon.social and co-host discussing #DataShards last night. https://librelounge.org/episodes/26-announcing-datashards.html
Afterwards, I thought that they stayed too high-level. They mentioned some similar concepts, such as #IPFS and #Tahoe-LAFS, but it felt like talking to a sales person. I'd rather know a little more about how it works.

Today's indoor peak temperature: 96F / 36C. Today's outdoor peak temperature: 99F / 37C.
I think it is just "thermal mass" holding some of the heat from the recent heat wave. If we have a few cooler days (upper 80s or lower 90s), the stored heat should expend itself.

To illustrate how insanely poor the COVID-19 data quality is in Texas right now... ... my county, Collin, has a disclaimer on all data from the state and has reported 0 cases for 3 straight days . ... same size county (Denton) next door? >100 cases per day for same period....!

@guizzy Did you have to watch old https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Blassie videos to learn wrestling techniques before you could win often enough to earn the blade?

http://status.hackerposse.com/url/22109 "I am 100% against private ... Schools ... Privatization continues to fail the public interest" This is distressing coming from a teacher, because I learned more in two years at private religious schools than I did in almost the entirety of my public school education, while also being freed from worries related to gang conflicts. None o…

http://status.hackerposse.com/url/22107 [www npr org] #LAUSD plans will require lots of work from nurses ... but school districts across #SoCal have one nurse for multiple schools. I don't see it happening as planned. Lots of kids and their families will fall through the cracks. Yes, phased reopenings will help, but they're going to have to enlist the help of community groups* …

Hmm. I’ve had some mild soreness in the right shoulder for a few weeks. Lifting my arm overhead, stretching, or picking up any kind of weight triggers it, as does rolling over in a way that puts weight on the shoulder.
I haven’t done anything that I can think of that would cause it, and I figured it would have gone away by now.

Reminds me that one time I fell out of bed and had trouble getting back up years ago. When #sonTwo heard of it, he said "If we have to put you in a home, we're choosing one near #sonOne. I'm tired of taking care of you."
That was LOL-worthy.

#TIL: Hill Sphere ( Roche Sphere ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hill_sphere ... part of the late night explorations.
This is something I had thought about before, but not in sufficient detail to have the concept crystallize.

#Twitter has no incentive to allow your #t-bridge to continue working, so don't be surprised when it doesn't work or when repairs take a long time to become effective.
Make sure every post you send has a link to your homepage or feed or Fediverse presence, so interested people can find your stuff when it breaks for good.
