"I am 100% against private

...

Schools

...

Privatization continues to fail the public interest"

This is distressing coming from a teacher, because I learned more in two years at private religious schools than I did in almost the entirety of my public school education, while also being freed from worries related to gang conflicts.

None of my three kids were right for one-size-fits-all public schooling either. Though we didn't use private schools, we used publicly funded continuation schools and charter schools with less control by the educrats. (Meaning their non-traditional schools could adapt to students' needs, but their regular public schools could not or would not.)

I have sisters and aunts who are or were public school teachers, so I know that they are caring and dedicated. But packing 35-40 kids into a first grade classroom should already tell you that schools aren't trying to do what is best for each individual student, despite teachers' efforts.
