This XEP sounds like it would be useful for joining large MUCs (chatrooms), where an unknown participant may be harvesting JIDs for later targeting by SPIM.

Seems strange to me, but #Xabber does not implement http://status.hackerposse.com/url/22221 I'm looking through some XEPs, looking for one that specifies that all requests sent from non-roster JIDs can be rejected. (Yes, I use Xabber, not #Conversations, as my #XMPP client on #Android. Every time I try to use Conversations, I have a very strong reaction and end up deleting it…

Parents that started wildfire could face penalties https://nu.federati.net/url/274804
#San_Bernardino County is a no fireworks zone. They could face penalties for that as well. #SoCal

@mangeurdenuage I think you're right. People need to fix what they damage. But they also have to cover some of the costs that the fire departments expended in fighting the fire they caused.
Plus, having & using fireworks in an area where fireworks are illegal may have some other consequences.

@mangeurdenuage @mitsu@shitposter.club If y'all wear #Depends, you can sleep in the same spot of the bed each night. No need for a giant bed.

From profcooley https://twitter.com/profcooley on Twitter: I still have colleagues who swear that we have to have the GRE in order to predict student success and that we couldn't possible figure this out with any other mechanism. So frustrating.... https://www.aps.org/publications/apsnews/202008/gre.cfm

From profcooley https://twitter.com/profcooley on Twitter: So many students and parents seem to believe that online or remote learning is subpar and can not compete with in person. I think that is a very narrow way to approach learning. https://physics.aps.org/articles/v13/130?utm_source=sept-amn

The best thing about #coin_laundry day isn't the laundromat, it is getting in the air conditioned car.

@vegos @xrevan86 I suspect that Mastodon's "delete and redraft" is at the root of that issue.

If you're near any hillsides that burn, expect mudslides during rainy season. One year, a whole church camp was buried in mud. .. some people died.

Still sort of orangish, but brighter. Can't see the mountains or hills, but not as hazy as before. Breezy, but not crazy.

@geniusmusing I've only seen the green sky once. I was in Louisiana. Saw it, thought "I've heard that'sa tornado sign" and drove to work anyway. I was almost in the parking lot when my phone sounded the alert.
