   @guizzy Thank you for posting this. In the US, at least, that was something dads used to teach their sons. I assume that Canadian families did something similar. I don't see us (either as parents or as nations) teaching people this any more. Instead, we tell our young people to pile up debt going to college ... and then hope to obtain a job that pays enough to repay the loans.h…

     I haven't checked in a few years, but at one point, less than half of college graduates obtained employment in their chosen field within a year of graduation.

At some point, they got taken over by a sales focus and both their level of service and the skill level of their employees fell. Guess when I got hired as Christmas help at a Radio Shack owned store?
