@guizzy Thank you for posting this. In the US, at least, that was something dads used to teach their sons. I assume that Canadian families did something similar.

I don't see us (either as parents or as nations) teaching people this any more. Instead, we tell our young people to pile up debt going to college ... and then hope to obtain a job that pays enough to repay the loans.
