   My question with all of these blobbed boards is if the boot blob really is so trivial, not anything to be concerned about and that I should pay no attention to the man behind the curtain then why havn't they been open sourced already? Why the big secret?

   @cow2001 The first thing I always consider is the question of whether I can even boot the system without some proprietary blob. With the Olimex boards I think you can, although I'm not sure about the arm64/A53 version.

    @benfell it might be that I've misinterpreted and that Mailpile could be set up like Syncthing. I'll have to investigate. That would certainly be a better situation, because a common situation might be that you have a few users on each box.
