"The notion of capturing positions of power, either through elections or insurrection, misses the point that the aim of revolution is to fundamentally change the relations of power. There is a vast area of do-it-yourself activity directed towards changing the world that does not have the state as its focus and that does not aim at gaining positions of power. It is an area in which the old distinctions between reform and revolution no longer seem relevant, simply because the question of who controls the state is not the focus of attention."
