A lot of this is easy work once the reorganization is complete. -

maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2017 08:10:35 EST maiyannah @takeshitakenji @harmlessgryphon Actually, some commentators have mentioned that and Gargron just blew them off.
Important to note: daveid = gargron = eugen. This post is self-promotion. -

Just a few things to document :/ -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2017 04:19:22 EST maiyannah @bob @mangeurdenuage I'm sceptical of it's claim of confidentiality when the system itself is based on proof of work. Either it has a means of independently verifying that and thus isn't terribly confidential, or it doesn't, and you're not really having to prove your work beyond a cursory appearance. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2017 04:11:51 EST maiyannah @tijagi @archaeme @loki https://www.postactiv.com/docs/files/actions/apitimelinepublic-php.html is an example of one that was, but even that needs some work (and I'm noticing the doc processor didn't format the xml code block) -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2017 04:09:00 EST maiyannah @archaeme @tijagi @loki Just getting the stubs has been days of work. There's over a thousand files to be documentated and _less than maybe 50 of them_ actually were. There's a lot more that needs to be done and it's not going to happen overnight. -

maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2017 04:05:07 EST maiyannah @mangeurdenuage I don't use paypal because I think it's private, I use paypal because it's about the one most ubiquitous way to get money online. If you're worried about privacy, use cash. Something rms has been pushing for a while is we need to develop ways to pay people anonymously. -

maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 17:06:55 EST maiyannah But postActiv really doesn't need to be a mail server or client. As much as everything somehow gravitates towards email. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 17:05:40 EST maiyannah The tradeoff here is that if I take something into the project, its something I have to maintain. Of course, an easy way to resolve that issue is to take on that mantle yourself, but a lot of contributors are fire-and-forget one-offs. People that own their code, so to speak, and support it, are probably never going to be rejected unless they have some really critical flaw. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 17:04:27 EST maiyannah The place I'd draw the line is extraneous behaviours, or interfaces I don't think are essential or extraneous, which are more appropriate for plugins. I'd be happy to include such things in the plugin repository though. Other than that, unless the patch really breaks stuff obviously, or introduces security issues, I dont see myself rejecting it. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 16:56:37 EST maiyannah @bob @moonman @takeshitakenji My general approach has been to hold changes in Nightly and let them be tested. If it ends up they screw something up, we can always revert it if it's bad enough to not be easily fixed, but the damage you do to people's willingness to contribute can be severe, if you reject them outright. The important thing here is to make it collab… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 16:53:20 EST maiyannah Git seems to have lost the contrib history rebasing @bob's proposed merge into Nightly rather than Master, because of course it did. Just has the merge commit, not the commits being actually merged. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Monday, 02-Jan-2017 16:31:10 EST maiyannah @takeshitakenji I'm just waiting for the moment someone kicks up a complete shit storm because I didn't want their PR/MR in the main software for whatever reason, or that I didn't drop everything for their pet feature or bug, or whatever. You know it's going to happen sooner or later.
