The place I'd draw the line is extraneous behaviours, or interfaces I don't think are essential or extraneous, which are more appropriate for plugins. I'd be happy to include such things in the plugin repository though. Other than that, unless the patch really breaks stuff obviously, or introduces security issues, I dont see myself rejecting it.

The tradeoff here is that if I take something into the project, its something I have to maintain. Of course, an easy way to resolve that issue is to take on that mantle yourself, but a lot of contributors are fire-and-forget one-offs. People that own their code, so to speak, and support it, are probably never going to be rejected unless they have some really critical flaw.

But postActiv really doesn't need to be a mail server or client. As much as everything somehow gravitates towards email.
