aroque (aroque)'s status on Thursday, 11-Jun-2015 17:18:23 EDT aroque !gnusocial how do you get text formatting (as I sometimes see in @vinzv posts)? What's the status of #textile plugin? -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 08-Jun-2015 13:06:34 EDT aroque The dust haven't settled yet in the !gnusocial repo after the !hackfest :-) I'll send you a summary of what happend by the end of the week. -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Sunday, 07-Jun-2015 02:43:13 EDT aroque Good morning !fediverse! Have a nice #hacking day! !gnusocial !hackfest -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Saturday, 06-Jun-2015 11:44:50 EDT aroque Useful tool for the !hackfest: scripts/createsim.php in the !gnusocial source "creates a lot of test users and notices to (loosely) simulate a real server". -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Saturday, 06-Jun-2015 05:59:33 EDT aroque I have a few wording suggestions to make the default classic !gnusocial interface less "corporate":
- use "friends" instead of "colleagues" (or at least add also "friends" when only "colleagues" are mentioned)
- use "People" instead of "User directory"
What about it? !hackfest -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Friday, 05-Jun-2015 02:10:30 EDT aroque Hello !fediverse! Get ready for the first !gnusocial !hackfest this weekend! https://gnusocial.no/conversation/173446 -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Wednesday, 03-Jun-2015 16:37:28 EDT aroque During the !hackfest keep an eye on this #etherpad
http://redaktilo.enkidu.coop/p/gs_website_faq
(courtesy of @manuel@lamatriz.org). It's a collaborative, realtime editing tool we can use to collect and edit #faq. There is already some text, which is waiting to land in some "official" faq, see https://git.gnu.io/foocorp/gnuio/issues/2. Feel free to add new questions/answers. I will try to clean it up from time to time. -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 25-May-2015 17:32:33 EDT aroque Just for fun, I started a minimal !gnusocial glossary and thesaurus at my fork's wiki: https://git.gnu.io/aroque/gnu-social/wikis/Glossary -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Thursday, 21-May-2015 16:09:20 EDT aroque Join us for the first GNU Social Hackfest on June 6/7 to improve GNU Social usability and consistency! It will take place throughout the !fediverse, which means you can participate remotely: just follow the !hackfest group and see what's going on! Do you feel like coding? Get started by creating an account at http://status.hackerposse.com/url/7306 Then, during the hackfest you can… -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Wednesday, 20-May-2015 13:19:54 EDT aroque You can follow #tags too, although that has some limitations (for instance they don't show up in your home timeline but on separate pages). That's why the main pattern in !gnusocial (at least so far) is to follow groups or people instead. -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Wednesday, 13-May-2015 17:31:33 EDT aroque I'd like to create merge requests to gnuio (essentially to update the faq) and !gnusocial repos at https://git.gnu.io/ but #gitlab has a notion of teams and only team members can get the right to request merges (or so it seems??). Would you mind adding me as team member? @mattl @mmn -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Sunday, 10-May-2015 07:10:43 EDT aroque !gnusocial hackfest 1: "Make it usable and consistent" Now that we have a bug tracker (http://status.hackerposse.com/url/7256), I relaunch the idea of a hackfest to improve gnusocial usability and consistency. You don't need to be a programmer to help, see below for a list of things you could do. When? Let's first hear from you gs lovers if you think this can be useful and feasib… -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 20-Apr-2015 18:10:24 EDT aroque The #InfiniteScroll plugin doesn't work on #mobile profile: new pages simply don't load. The reason is that onStartShowHTML() returns false on mobile, thus blocking other plugins from loading. That's a one line fix @mmn !snbug -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Saturday, 18-Apr-2015 17:57:49 EDT aroque What's the problem with your instance? Also it's a good idea to subscribe to the !gnusocial group to get more feedback -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Saturday, 11-Apr-2015 06:28:05 EDT aroque OK let me see if I get that right. The #faq is going to be part of the repo, thus it will ship with every !gnusocial instance. This way the instance's admin will be able to tweak it the site's specifics and keep those p… -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Tuesday, 07-Apr-2015 16:22:13 EDT aroque These FAQ should be updated: http://s.vinilox.eu/dpI. !gnusocial is now! @mattl "What will GNU social be? By default, we think it'll ship with a plugin to offer functionality that looks like the current popular social … -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Tuesday, 07-Apr-2015 12:48:02 EDT aroque Since you ask explicitly for it, here is what I think after trying it as avatar: I would add a mouth. Its absence make me think of a gas mask. And I would stick to white+color. But above all: does !gnusocial really need … -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 06-Apr-2015 10:14:26 EDT aroque Some recent #css changes in !gnusocial make the #neo-quitter theme look a bit ugly. Previously the white background of a notice used to "wrap" the replies, which I found nice, whereas now they appear as "detached". In neo-gnu the glitch is barely visible: the subtle dotted border, which delimits the notice, doesn't appear after the replies. !snbug https://gnusocial.no/attachment/4434 -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 06-Apr-2015 09:41:20 EDT aroque Would be cool to run small, solar-powered !gnusocial instances! -
aroque (aroque)'s status on Monday, 06-Apr-2015 08:52:14 EDT aroque Some attachment displyaing issues in !gnusocial master on gnusocial.no (leading to a weird threaded view). I can't attach a screenshot because I get I am trying to attach a screenshot but I get [File] DB_DataObject error []: DB Error: no such field
