Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Saturday, 16-Jul-2016 18:06:28 EDT Björn Schießle @bob yes, sadly completely free distribution as defined by FSFE struggle to have enough contributors. But in general I don't think it is correct to describe Free Software as something which is mostly done by hobbyists in their spare time. The Boston Consulting Group concluded already 2002 that about 40% of all Free Software is developed by paid developers as part of their prima… -

Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Tuesday, 31-May-2016 05:55:11 EDT Björn Schießle @mmn @maiyannah I see a chance to double the number of !gnusocial developers. So why not work together in the same main repository? I consider it crucial to the success of GNU Social to grow the community, both from the users and from the developers point of view. Any reasons why both of your don't want to work together on the same repository? -
Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Tuesday, 31-May-2016 03:29:52 EDT Björn Schießle @bob wouldn't be to fast with a fork. Until now @mmn did a great job on keeping !gnusocial moving. If people want to contribute we should try to get them in as fast as possible. It is always good if workload can be distributed among more people. -
Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Mar-2016 16:08:58 EDT Björn Schießle I wrote my first #WordPress plug-in. It was easier as I thought. Also because I just had to wrap the !gnusocial widget by @chimo to integrate it into my blog. You can find the plug-in here: http://src.schiessle.org/BeS/wp-share-on-gnusocial -
Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Thursday, 25-Feb-2016 17:24:59 EST Björn Schießle After a server crash I lost the ostatus_source table and had to restore it from a one month old backup. It looks like this table contain all users and groups to which my status messages should be send to. What does this mean for all users which subscribed to my account after the backup was created? Will they no longer receive my messages and what could I do about it? !gnusocial -
Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Sunday, 14-Feb-2016 07:39:55 EST Björn Schießle @bastianilso sadly that's a limitation of !gnusocial. A server can't have a user and a group with the same name. So you need to create the group on a server where no user "gnome" exists. -
Björn Schießle (bes)'s status on Saturday, 13-Feb-2016 05:49:55 EST Björn Schießle damn... any way to fix it. Maybe change the ID manually in the db? Couldn't this be more robust? E.g. first search the GNU Social server for messages linking to the blog and then use this message IDs? Just asking... !gnusocial !wpgnusocial -
