   @mmn @maiyannah I see a chance to double the number of !gnusocial developers. So why not work together in the same main repository? I consider it crucial to the success of GNU Social to grow the community, both from the users and from the developers point of view. Any reasons why both of your don't want to work together on the same repository?

   @bob wouldn't be to fast with a fork. Until now @mmn did a great job on keeping !gnusocial moving. If people want to contribute we should try to get them in as fast as possible. It is always good if workload can be distributed among more people.

    After a server crash I lost the ostatus_source table and had to restore it from a one month old backup. It looks like this table contain all users and groups to which my status messages should be send to. What does this mean for all users which subscribed to my account after the backup was created? Will they no longer receive my messages and what could I do about it? !gnusocial

    @bastianilso sadly that's a limitation of !gnusocial. A server can't have a user and a group with the same name. So you need to create the group on a server where no user "gnome" exists.

    damn... any way to fix it. Maybe change the ID manually in the db? Couldn't this be more robust? E.g. first search the GNU Social server for messages linking to the blog and then use this message IDs? Just asking... !gnusocial !wpgnusocial

    Seems like the aliases for the !FOSS group doesn't work. !FOSS and !foss works but not !FreeSoftware !freeSoftware !opensource or !OpenSource... Any idea why? !gnusocial

    @hugo btw, great that you joined GNU Social! :) It is a really nice community of people here. At the beginning it can take some time to find the people you want to follow but it is really worth it and with groups you can easily connect with people with similar interests.
