@nds Well, if you campaign in Chicago, you talk about issues that are important to those voters. If you go to Kansas, you talk about a different set of issues. Also, helps that stances on some issues vary with location because candidates need to be pushed away from extreme viewpoints on those issues. -

@xrevan86 @vegos He certainly could have accepted Jill Stein's offer and joined her in the Green Party's slate. He chose to back Clinton. At the very least, he could have split the anti-Clinton vote. -

@cphuntington97 @nds Pure popvote would mean campaigns (and positions on issues) would target the top 20 or 30 urban areas, not even full states. So if you lived over 90 miles away from Los Angeles or over 40 miles away from Kansas City, you wouldn't exist. I'm not even sure #Baton_Rouge would matter. -

#Identica was down for a few hours the day that #Microcast went down. I am not sure what day each instance failed, but multiple other E14N #Pump.io instances (including 1realtime, urmf, hotpump) currently have or recently had multi-day outages. -

I do know that it is difficult to run #queuedaemons for multiple instances on the same machine at once. I thought from previous reading that STOMP could run one set of queuedaemons on behalf of all such instances instead of each instance running its own. But then, I never tried message queues, so my recollection could be wrong. -

@vegos @cphuntington97 Yes, I loved it when we used to have extended family get-togethers with foods from various ancestral traditions represented. -

On my little #Roku, I'm watching some episodes of #RailCasts on Mad Coder TV. I find myself wondering whether there are similar series available for !Python and #PHP frameworks (e.g., #Django, #TurboGears, #Symfony). -

@cphuntington97 @vegos Learn and use whatever OTHER languages you choose, but you're just an easy victim if you can't speak/understand the host country's main language.
You'd be surprised how many scammers and robbers prey on immigrants who can't easily communicate with law enforcement. Learning the local language is always going to be a critical part of integrating immigrants into any country's population. -
