   XMPP has complete command control over SN -- subscribe, unsubscribe, join groups, &c. But at this time sn.jonkman.ca doesn't have XMPP support (it will soon), and it isn't really an open server either (it's intended for the Jonkman family)

   Could create a pump.io plugin on StatusNet, or could create an OStatus bridge on Pump.io. Either way, there'd be communication between the two separate federations. Or create one proxy server that channels all firehose traffic between the two federations...

   I was hoping once the Pump.io servers support groups and a StatusNet bridge is in place, that all the former Identi.ca groups will magically work on Federated SN instances again. But if I have to leave Identi.ca groups to get local and other remote groups to work then I'll be sad and somewhat annoyed.

    Apparently a local group isn't selected instead of a federated group unless the names are fully qualified.
