The #Wikipedia #deletionists were the biggest complaint we had during a Q&A session in 2011 with then-Executive Director Sue Gardner. Nothing got changed, a Toronto Wikipedia users chapter was never set up, and shortly afterwards the Wikipedians mailing list was cancelled in favour of (Yahoo or Google) groups. I was never very active on Wikipedia, but after this even less so. https://www.flickr.com/photos/laurelrusswurm/albums/72157650655305999

@strypey I believe the #deletionists undermine the value of #Wikipedia. I've read some pretty bruising threads on to-be-deleted articles. It seems that deletionists also chase away (potential) contributors.

#Wikipedia says "Android 4.4.2 Kitkat via CyanogenMod 11 (GT-S5570, GT-S5570i)". Of course it might be "too new" (resource demanding) to run smoothly, but have you tried it yet?

#Wikipedia's problem is probably that they do a really intense fund raising drive and don't have a static reminder about financing. So they get extra annoying during a month or two - which is of course not appreciated by its users.

@pskosinski The WMF develops #MediaWiki, so supporting #Wikipedia means supporting a wiki tool I use in various projects.

In one presentation during gymnasiet me and a couple of classmates invented a country that we presented as a fact. We were supposed to choose a real country, but we figured it'd be more fun to draw our own maps and come up with our own history attached to the country.
I don't think we created a #Wikipedia page though, but noone insisted hard enough on - whatever we called it - that it wasn't a country.

I never understood that debate. Harddrive manufacturers don't get away with anything. They label in powers of ten - k M G T etc. It's our operating systems that label stuff (sometimes using incorrect prefixes) in powers of 2 - Ki Mi Gi Ti etc. Everyone are using the correct SI units except some software developers who think they can simplify Ki (2^10, 1024) to k (10^3,…
