   (Wikipedia says why they want donations too, so it's still "Wikipediaesque"... but if it's kept short I think it's more acceptable... People have to learn that free doesn't necessarily mean gratis! :))

     ...or just use a third party client, or write a simple Greasemonkey script. Then the header is gone.
     @knuthollund: I'd say don't remove it, but perhaps rephrase it? On #quitter.is I tell them _why_ donations are appreciated: "This site is not financed with advertisement. Consider donating [...]" (+ letting people know who the admin is, so they get a contact as well).

     #Wikipedia's problem is probably that they do a really intense fund raising drive and don't have a static reminder about financing. So they get extra annoying during a month or two - which is of course not appreciated by its users.
