@mcscx2 there's the #SubMirror plugin which lets you replicate RSS/Atom and some non-working hidden code I believe that intended to make it easy to replicate remote feeds based on #webfinger ID. The RSS/Atom feed mirroring doesn't work well though, as it requires a PuSH server right now which most hosts lack. But recently I've pushed the basis of a #FeedPoller plugin …

well, one of his problems, in my view, was: he didn't set a #subdomain (1) which e.g. resulted in: I could never ping him with his #webfinger :-( (1) http://federation.skilledtests.com/Statusnet_problems.html#how_should_the_URL.2Fdomain.2Fpath_structure_for_my_statusnet_be.3F

today's hint: find out if your #webfinger works: http://www.madebymonsieur.com/ostatus_discovery/index.php #statusnet #GNUsocial http://federation.skilledtests.com/Statusnet_problems.html#webfinger:_make_sure_your_statusnet_install_works

you don't get messages of users who want to talk with you (when they type your #webfinger), @rozzin@status.hackerposse.com is investigating the responsible regex in the code, see irc history (very likely it's your "o." prefix on your domain)

The RFC6415-compliance change to #webfinger between #StatusNet 1.0 and 1.1: http://status.hackerposse.com/url/4058

actually for me it's different I have noticed with GS instances: I can't use the #webfinger anymore to add them, only the #http links
-
I guess I should upgrade to #StatusNet 1.1 to get RFC6415-compliant #webfinger....
-
@laurelrusswurm, there are a couple other parts needed if you want to use the #webfinger method, though....
-
e.g.: here's part of my #webfinger setup that lets @-replies for "@rozzin@hackerposse.com" go to status.hackerposse.com.
-
@laurelrusswurm, I can also help you set up a proper #webfinger resource, if you want.

To say #WebFinger "doesn't work quite right on a subdirectory" is an understatement would be an understatement—spec requires "at the root"☺
