@musicman #C-sharp based #OpenSimulator ( https://opensimulator.org/ ) is new to me, but it reminds me of !smalltalk based #OpenCobalt ( http://www.opencobalt.net/ ). I've never used either, but I did used to read a lot about #Croquet (the project that OC revived and replaced) ten or fifteen years ago. -

Hmm. The current version of #Scratch ( https://scratch.mit.edu/ ) is based on Adobe's #Flash, rather than the original #Squeak #Smalltalk. Flash goes #EOL at the end of this year.
Hopefully, they've already started on their rewrite. -

A couple of things I've heard !Smalltalk people say killed their market: 1. Smalltalk's image-based system didn't mesh well with OS filesystems; 2. #Smalltalk vendor turmoil and their high pricing.
