Sometimes, !selfhost isn't so fun. I had to get the cable modem replaced yesterday. I have to give #Comcast Business credit: They were out within a couple hours, which is a lot faster than I expect from anybody in this space. This is the risk of #decentralization but not !selfhost (ing). You're just as reliant on someone else, but with less stability.
I think Charles Roth deserves some credit here: When he felt he could no longer host his sites, he gave lots of notice up front. But even so, some folks were relying on him for some stuff. -

@ericxdu23 if Evan's sites were the only major instances #pumpverse had then it's #epicfail V2. Same happened when everyone was depending on #identica without bothering to !selfhost
