@mangeurdenuage I don't know how they ( #Docker, #LXC, #Virtuozzo / #OpenVZ ) would deal with that, since (as #BSD fans are quick to point out) containers in Linux lack appropriate security controls. -

I'm not currently using #Proxmox, though both it and #LXD are on my list (as well as manipulating LXC directly) of things to explore. I also considered #OpenVZ, but took a look at the installation instructions and found that the instructions are designed to give you #Virtuozzo (the paid version, perhaps better called ClosedVZ or PaidVZ). @strypey I think it's rather that there are several Linux container projects and most people know only of #Docker and #OpenVZ. #Sandstorm is relatively unknown, and Oasis is the primary place to host it.

Hopefully, if Sandstorm shuts down entirely, they'll create a migration path to other containers and hosting. -

... though most everything I do sits on servers (either #OpenVZ containers or #Xen / #KVM #VPS) that I rent and manage; so in that way, I already !selfhost. -
