The #NTP article does seems like a copycat of the !GnuPG article. But more people contributing code doesn't improve Harlan Stenn's financial position. More people contributing code doesn't pay for servers and colocation sites and network bandwidth and travel costs. setting up my computers to use the Fritz!box as time server: that is already consulting the pool, no need for separate computers to do that as well. I only realized recently that the Fritz!box could do that: it's a handy feature. !til the program chrony can do different things than ntp, and is handy for laptops that cannot always poll a server - it was already installed by Fedora! #time #sync #ntp #chrony -

I'm starting to think that using ntp-servers in the request list of dhclient.conf (as done by default in !Debian) is a bad idea. #ntp #dhcp -

I suppose if your laptop is *very* old (e.g.: it's the same laptop #Jesus had...), it might have missed ~3600 leap seconds without #NTP....
