@shel Thanks for noticing CW and "post scope" for #Mastodon. "CW" (Content warning) is just a message title, which Mastodon uses (today) as a spoiler to hide a "toot"?! I agree, the option to add a title is really needed as it is supported at least by Mastodon and #Pump.io. Post scope, as I see, is a simplified way to select the message recipients. C'est mon point de vue, mais j'ai tendance à penser que le Web est un espace public, bien plus public qu'un bistrot. Mais tout ça au fond, n'est pas la source du problème. Donc tu suis des gens sur #mastodon depuis !gnusocial. Tu vois donc leurs posts. Mais quand ils répondent à des posts d'autres, que tu ne suis pas et qui publient leurs posts de manière non complètement publique, du coup tu ne peux pas suivre la conversation, même si ça parle d'un truc auss intéressant qu'une comparaison de web server. J'avoue que je trouve ça un peu pénible… -

Lately I've been using #AndStatus to try out several #Mastodon and #GnuSocial instances and I love it. AndStatus' accessibility helps my eyes and its granular controls over attachments and syncing save me lots of data. -

@perspicacious01 On a positive side - it's (at least mostly) Open Source software, so GNU Social could easily borrow something good from it?!
I didn't inspect #Mastodon's server infrastructure, but from what I've heard, distribution the preconfigured Social network instance as a #Docker image could simplify adoption / upgrades of the sever... -

@archaeme I feel that "equality of service principle" would actually make #Mastodon much like #Twitter: It's also "decentralized" in some sense, because it consists of a multitude of servers distributed globally.
Also, according to some regional laws , personal data of a country citizens should be physically stored on a territory of the country: here we see real data decentralization... -
