Yup. They might as well pack up their sites and just go straight to FB, Twitter, Tumblr, et al. /bad marketing for them IMO. Imagine if their SNs were still up, that would mean more jobs in the FS industry right?

So now, instead of these networks embracing StatusNet, etc. they ended up embracing Twitter because the hosts they tried before Twitter eventually went down. The question will always be: how reliable is the service? How long will it stay? What’s the financial status of its admin(s)?

Yep, a couple actually. When the others was forgotten by their admins, a couple of new ones showed up. But eventually forgotten still. What was unfortunate was some of them got support from news networks before they jumped to Twitter.
