Yuri Volkov (yvolk)'s status on Sunday, 01-Oct-2017 01:04:45 EDT Yuri Volkov I filed a bug for #ActivityPub, which is exactly about Person's freedom to choose (and actually, change) an instance/server of a global social network without loosing his/her identity, including historical data. Moving from one instance of a federation to another is a normal case, just like having user accounts at several servers. And #ActivityPub specification should explici… -

Yuri Volkov (yvolk)'s status on Friday, 29-Sep-2017 02:00:09 EDT Yuri Volkov @cwebber Reposting to make sure you received my reply. Where should I file this #ActivityPub issue? The #ActivityPub spec's problem is not in that simplistic phrase "users are represented as actors here". The problem is that there is NO technical description of the whole domain model layer: relation between Actors (e.g. Person) and Users of servers. Current version will be int… -

The problem is that there is NO technical description of the whole domain model layer: relation between Actors (e.g. Person) and Users of servers. Current version will be interpreted as having one-to-one relation between the two _different_ kinds of entities, and that _is_ incorrect

MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn)'s status on Monday, 11-Sep-2017 04:50:08 EDT MMN-o ✅⃠ @oxenfree @cybermeow @elizafox @cyberpotato @cajun @thatbrickster @lain @heluecht Hi, I'm @mmn, maintainer of GNUsocial. I reacted when it was written that "many people on gnusocial are angry" and wish to say that !GNUsocial has only love and appreciation for #Mastodon and #ActivityPub. I believe cooperation is important for libre software and the federated social web… -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Sep-2017 18:40:10 EDT MMN-o ✅⃠ @cwebber Indeed you and others involved with AP spec development have been very inclusive, inviting and encouraging. I very much appreciate your (and everyone else's) efforts that have been put into #ActivityPub. -
MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Sep-2017 18:37:58 EDT MMN-o ✅⃠ @cwebber The only reason !GNUsocial doesn't have #ActivityPub yet is because I have a fulltime job and noone else has been up for the task .] Though I'm pretty sure it'd still just be the 100% public parts of AP that would be used/promoted, as I'm pretty much convinced there's no such thing as privacy in the social sphere anyway and anyone using "private" communicatio… -

Former Bob Jonkman -- Please use the new server at https://gs.jonkman.ca (bobjonkmanformer)'s status on Tuesday, 04-Jul-2017 21:58:46 EDT Former Bob Jonkman -- Please use the new server at https://gs.jonkman.ca I'm perfectly happy that #Mastodon exists, and if it implements #ActivityPub in a future version, more power to it. And if it drops #OStatus support, well, that's what forks (or reimplementations) like #Mastodon are for. But don't blame #GNUsocial developers for not following #Mastodon's road map for the future. -
AndStatus (andstatus)'s status on Monday, 22-May-2017 01:52:13 EDT AndStatus @deadsuperhero Inspiring news! Glad that I noticed them at least now :-) I didn't think #ActivityPub adoption campaign could be so active :-) Just this weekend I started to refactor internal data model of #AndStatus from "messages"/"users" with some "favorited", "followed" etc. attributes to "activities" with actors and actions... I'm trying to use terminology of ActivityPub… -
Sean Tilley (deadsuperhero)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Apr-2017 13:34:18 EDT Sean Tilley Oh boy, Evan Prodromou (of #StatusNet / #Pump / #OStatus fame) showed up on #Diaspora's GitHub Issue tracker and asked that we support #ActivityPubIt's a nice thought, and hopefully we can do that in the long term. But some part of me is apprehensive about the spec and the leg work it will take to support it. There are certain unanswered questions, such a…
