Usually, you go to court to determine if a witness is reliable, so this is kinda yikes:
'Cameron said evidence shows the "officers both knocked and announced their presence. It was also corroborated by a witness in an apartment near Taylor's." Therefore, Cameron said, the warrant was not served as a "no-knock" warrant.' -

Analogy: Encryption is a proof of work algorithm if you don't have the key. Having the key is like pre-computing the PoW.

For the first time in a couple of months, I was able to extend my right arm straight out sideways without (much) pain. I also practiced "TSA position" ... almost got there. -

@musicman I agree about exec pay.
As for side projects, in their new, limited-resource world, every new project takes resources away from #Firefox, #Thunderbird, and #Rust. Sometimes that's worth the cost, sometimes it isn't, but take a look at how many projects they've abandoned (such as their mobile OS). -

My only quibble with https://loadaverage.org/url/6141812 is there is no way Cincinnati is great plains. Anyone that has ever been to Cincy knows it's not a plain.
Probably Appalachia, The South, Great Lakes, and The Plains all need to meet at Cincy.
I've never done anything by drive through Columbus, but...does Columbus being in Great Lakes make sense to people. It seems ok to me. -

Speaking of the #Census bureau, they believe they have counted over 95% of US households already. That doesn't include the house across the street. Twice now, they've sent someone out to the house, but the family hasn't been home. Not sure who actually lives there. They have so many people coming and going that I don't have a clue. -

Whatever update $EMPLOYER installed a few days ago, it took 20 minutes to get logged in and connected to the #VPN today. With the older laptops, that wasn't unusual, but these ones run much faster. -
