Well on an instance admin level, you're making choices and depriving the users / members of that ability. I agree it can be justified in some cases (for instance illegal content or instance-wide spam, gore, untagged NSFW), but as a whole, users should have blocking tools and be encouraged to use the tools themselves. -

I was recently reading that CPUC (the public utilities commission) had rejected Cal-ISO pleas to allow more generating capacity. Possibly another case where “true believers” prevent people from preparing for situations that will surely come. -
