   Just signed up for #Comcast Business Internet service; since #FirstLight told me they don't want customers anymore, and #FairPoint *acts like* they never even wanted customers in the first place, this seems to be the only option left.

   Filling out a web form to get a quote from a vendor; form won't submit unless I fill in the "Fax number" field. So I put "it's the 21st century and we left faxes in the 1900s, just e-mail me" and it accepts that.

   Tried adding the word "audio" to a search for "RS-232 balun". First result: $3k (to be fair, it also did a lot of other stuff; but to be really fair, I still don't see it being worth anything close to $3k)

   Cripes, why are `RS-232 baluns' so much more expensive than `RS-232/RS-422 converters'? Is it just the #audiophile connotations of "balun"?

    Been quiet round here...so my latest hacking: I took the LCD screen out of an old Dell laptop, looked up the part number, and bought a controller off Ebay. ~$40 and it worked right outtadabox! Has DVI, HDMI, VGA, audio and 4 button controls. Now I need to build a enclosure. ;)
