@bob I'm 10 minutes in so far and I can't recognize the issue of »using the language "command line"». I haven't had to show any recent new GNU/Linux user a command line at all.

@bob The second point on asocial introductions ("content before connection") is somewhat valid, though I haven't really been to a conference where people would dismiss anyone who introduces themselves because that's what they do. So I don't understand why anyone would actively recommend people to avoid such introductory behaviour?!

Does that behaviour actually exist? That people are actively recommended not to "ask to ask" outside of online, asynchronous chatrooms?

Though I think it's 100% ok to make fun of people with Macbooks or iPhones that can't be fixed due to Apple. When you pay so much more for something then you should reasonably do a bit of background checking. Like buying a house for more money where you can't change the locks or something.

@bob Haha yes, when I was friendly and supported people on Windows I had a much larger workload because of random malfunctions than with GNU/Linux based operating systems. One great example is the place I work, where they had an old machine running Windows (no admin access even!) for _public use_ that had at least one serious problem every two weeks.
