    I get that security through obscurity is not really a thing, but that's the sort of situation where you are likely to get targeted attacks. You might as well make them figure that out too.

      Other than the very smallest nation-states, I'm sure every military has both Windows and Unix-like OS in their computing systems. Maybe being specific in endorsing "Debian training" is a mistake, but opponents could always just monitor tech job sites to see what appears on the resumes of people leaving national militaries.
