It isn't anonymity that causes online assholishness; it is unpunishability. You can see the same thing (after the shutdowns end) by going to any fast food place and watching people abuse the employees that are taking their orders.

As soon as they see that they _can_ be punished, they'll be nice again (or stomp off to their rooms and grumble about how unfair it is that they cannot mistreat people).
