@guizzy When everything was hand-drawn, keeping costs down was necessary. I was surprised to see how little of the detail I remembered was really there when I saw some "Speed Racer" episodes decades later.

The question becomes did they do enough or skimp too much? I can still enjoy H-B cartoons today, so I think they did.
