     I can see why they’re reacting so strongly, though. Just days ago, it was 2,000 known cases. Now it is 12,000 known cases, and still somewhere over 2% (but less than 3%) of people known to be infected died.
     
     On the other hand, I’d still say most people are not going to be infected. There are millions of people in Hubei Province and infections are only in the low thousands.
