     @roko @moonman When I visited the NASA facility at Edwards AFB, they told us the SR-71 was designed that way because once it gets its speed up, the outer panels get very hot and expand, sealing the leaks. They didn't let us get any closer to the plane than about fifty feet, and it wasn't a flight day.
